List of common defects that are not repairable


1. Short journal drive slot – this wear is not repairable.

2. Long journal slot – IBM allowed 2mm of wear to the slot. Wear can cause noise at startup.

Roller on right has less than 2mm of wear and can be remanufactured.


3. Deformed ends – often from being dropped. This wear is not repairable.

4. Impact Damage  – usually handling problems. IBM allowed a couple minor, shallow dings less than 2mm in size. Anything larger can cause toner buildup in the area. However, we would leave this to your discretion.
